This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Create comprehensive estimates and pricing models for mission-critical and data center initiatives.
• Evaluate and interpret RFPs, scopes of work, technical specifications, and proposal requirements, including Spanish-language RFPs for the Latin American market.
• Assist in pricing exercises, cost modeling, bid analysis, documentation of assumptions, and the development of pricing strategies.
• Contribute to proposal inputs, pricing narratives, schedules, clarifications, and other related deliverables.
• Examine mechanical and electrical one-line diagrams and other MEP documentation to formulate precise estimating assumptions.
• Develop, maintain, and update estimating tools, pricing templates, cost databases, and supporting documentation using Microsoft Excel and company systems.
• Collaborate with operations, sales, proposal, project management, and technical teams to confirm assumptions, scope requirements, and pricing inputs.
• Recognize pricing risks, scope gaps, exclusions, and clarifications, and communicate these to relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure accuracy, organization, and confidentiality while handling multiple pricing and proposal deadlines.
• Utilize Salesforce, Deltek, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other business systems for estimating and proposal tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support business objectives.
• Provide approximately 75% pricing support and 25% proposal support for Bureau Veritas Mission Critical’s Americas Data Center business.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent industry experience related to MEP components.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Mission Critical sector, particularly concerning Data Centers, preferred in place of or in addition to degree requirements.
• Experience in estimating, pricing, proposal development, project controls, construction, commissioning, QA/QC, operations consulting, or owner’s representative services is preferred.
• A general understanding and interpretation skills for mechanical and electrical one-line diagrams are required.
• Familiarity with Salesforce is preferred.
• Experience with Deltek is preferred, with training considered acceptable.
• Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, including pricing models, formulas, and data tables.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Salesforce, and Deltek.
• Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, technical documents, and RFP requirements.
• Capability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and apply basic algebraic concepts.
• Proficiency in Portuguese is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work autonomously and maintain accountability for deadlines and deliverables.
• Ability to review and interpret mechanical and electrical one-line diagrams and MEP documentation.
• Capability to use standard office equipment and conduct computer-based spreadsheet and document tasks.
• May occasionally lift and transport materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
