Senior ERP Business Analyst – Distribution

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Lead the analysis and discovery process for intricate business scenarios, customer challenges, and product requirements.

• Design new features and improvements, encompassing functional specifications, workflows, process flows, mockups or wireframes, and acceptance criteria.

• Evaluate business impact, compatibility, dependencies, data risks, and integration risks; negotiate scope and priorities effectively.

• Break down initiatives into technical user stories and development tasks; oversee implementation and maintain traceability.

• Provide functional expertise across distribution workflows, including sales, purchasing, warehousing, inventory, pricing, freight, tax, and financial processes.

• Analyze and document data flows and integration requirements with external operational systems; create mapping or API specifications.

• Collaborate with developers, QA, testing engineers, technical writers, support, implementation teams, and external partners.

• Develop test plans and scenarios; conduct acceptance testing, validate outcomes, and verify corrected defects.

• Lead preparation for UAT, releases, deployments, demonstrations, training, and post-go-live support.

• Investigate escalated support issues, contribute to root-cause analysis, maintain documentation, and identify opportunities for product and process enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

• Over 5 years of experience in business or system analysis, ERP functional consulting, or product analysis.

• Proven experience leading complex or cross-functional initiatives and developing functional specifications and workflow diagrams.

• More than 4 years of experience in distribution domains such as Supply Chain, Sales, Purchasing, Warehousing, Inventory Management, or E-commerce.

• Ability to guide requirements from discovery through design, development, testing, and release.

• Proficient in translating business needs into technical user stories with acceptance criteria, process flows, and mockups or wireframes.

• Experience collaborating with developers, quality teams, and business users, including performing acceptance testing and validating functionality.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills in English.

• Capability to work independently, manage multiple high-priority initiatives, navigate ambiguity, and provide functional guidance or peer review.

• Quality-focused mindset, curiosity, and the ability to quickly learn new business and technical concepts.

• Availability to work primarily in the Eastern Time Zone, with occasional flexibility.

• Preferred: experience with Acumatica or another modern cloud ERP platform.

• Preferred: knowledge of fuel distribution, logistics, downstream energy, or related industry workflows.

• Preferred: familiarity with ERP integrations, APIs, web services, REST, SOAP, SQL, JSON, or XML.

• Preferred: understanding of financial/accounting workflows, fuel pricing, freight management, excise tax, reporting, or multi-entity operations.

• Preferred: experience with Agile product development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Moqups or similar wireframing tools.
