This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Lead environmental work streams from initial feasibility and site selection through to consenting, pre-construction, and Final Investment Decision (FID).
• Develop and oversee environmental strategies, scopes, programs, budgets, and delivery plans.
• Coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments along with relevant technical disciplines.
• Manage environmental consultants, survey providers, and specialized subcontractors.
• Supervise the commissioning, execution, and quality assurance of environmental surveys, assessments, and reports.
• Integrate environmental activities with engineering, planning, land use, grid, commercial, and project delivery work streams.
• Identify and manage environmental risks, constraints, dependencies, and opportunities.
• Monitor progress in relation to program, budget, and project milestones.
• Assist with consenting strategies across planning frameworks in England, Wales, and Scotland.
• Coordinate environmental contributions to Development Consent Orders (DCO), Development of National Significance (DNS), Section 36, Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA), and other consent applications.
• Engage with planning authorities, statutory consultees, regulators, landowners, and community stakeholders.
• Support procurement processes, consultant appointments, and commercial management of environmental work packages.
• Prepare progress reports, risk updates, and recommendations for clients and project governance forums.
• Support projects through due diligence, investment approvals, and readiness for FID.
• Contribute to enhancing the consultancy’s capability in environmental project management.
• Proven experience in managing environmental work streams within major infrastructure, energy, or development projects.
• Familiarity with one or more UK consenting frameworks, including DCO, DNS, Section 36, or TCPA.
• Understanding of environmental requirements linked to project development and consenting processes.
• Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary environmental assessments, surveys, and technical specialists.
• Knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment procedures.
• Ability to develop and manage programs, budgets, risks, and consultant scopes effectively.
• Experience collaborating with developers, technical consultants, regulators, or statutory stakeholders.
• Capability to identify interfaces and dependencies across environmental, planning, engineering, and commercial work streams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence in a client-facing consultancy environment.
• Ability to work independently within a remote and geographically dispersed team.
• Full working rights within the UK at the time of application.
• Must currently reside in the UK.
