Senior Environmental Permitting Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Assist with environmental permitting for a variety of projects spanning the Energy sector, state infrastructure, federal initiatives, and industrial domains.

• Implement regulatory permit requirements throughout Massachusetts and other states in New England.

• Conduct and facilitate public presentations.

• Collaborate effectively within a team setting.

• Engage in project and client travel, as well as attend project and site meetings.

• Contribute to projects related to electric transmission, generation, renewable energy, state infrastructure, federal sectors, and industrial activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field, along with 8 years of relevant experience, or a proven equivalent of experience and/or education.

• Experience in environmental permitting.

• Familiarity with projects in Massachusetts and other New England states.

• Knowledge of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act Regulations (310 CMR 10.00), Sections 404/401 of the Clean Water Act, MEPA, Chapter 91, and associated land-use regulations.

• Capability to attend and lead public presentations.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• US citizenship is mandatory.

• Possession of a valid driver's license.

• Must successfully pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records evaluation.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Proficiency in computer skills.

• Preferred: 12+ years of permitting experience and MS expertise.

• Desired background in wetland science, policy, and land-use regulations.
