This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary technical authority for engineering, integration, and architecture within the EHR service portfolio and/or for EHR clients.
• Create and sustain enterprise-level engineering strategies, roadmaps, and modernization initiatives.
• Oversee technical evaluations, architectural governance, and engineering decision-making for significant projects.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership on the customer side to outline the engineering processes and milestones for the program.
• Foster and guide systems engineering discipline throughout the program for new implementations, capabilities, enhancements, and modifications.
• Provide engineering supervision for EHR platforms, encompassing workflows, infrastructure, cloud services, interfaces, and data interchange.
• Confirm that the environment adheres to standards for availability, performance, scalability, and cybersecurity.
• Lead root-cause analyses for critical incidents and facilitate the execution of long-term corrective measures.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and propose strategic improvements that align with mission and program objectives.
• Work alongside product owners, system integrators, cybersecurity teams, and operations leads to resolve intricate technical issues.
• Guide engineering teams and offer mentorship to promote workforce development and technical excellence.
• Assist in the development of proposals, technical presentations, program evaluations, and client interactions.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in enterprise health IT, EHR systems, or complex systems engineering.
• Proven experience supporting major commercial EHR platforms (Cerner/Oracle Health, Epic, etc.) is required.
• Proficiency in system architecture, cloud engineering, interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM), and modernization of infrastructure.
• Experience in leading engineering strategy within large, regulated, mission-driven environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance is essential.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% is required.
