Senior Enterprise Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the technical design and governance for Coupa's custom connector and MCP server offerings.

• Establish the reference architecture for MCP servers and custom connectors, covering aspects such as transport, authentication, schema/versioning, error semantics, and observability.

• Create and assess connector specifications for Coupa, NetSuite, SAP, Workday, Salesforce, and external partner APIs.

• Develop security and governance patterns for OAuth2/OIDC, management of credentials and secrets, least-privilege access, and audit logging.

• Manage the technical roadmap and backlog prioritization for the integration team in collaboration with the Sr. Director.

• Provide architectural reviews and code-level guidance to AI Integration Engineers.

• Assess and choose iPaaS, orchestration frameworks, agent SDKs, and API gateways.

• Define and uphold testing and evaluation standards for connector reliability and the correctness of agent tool-calling.

• Act as the technical escalation point for production incidents related to connectors and MCP infrastructure.

• Collaborate with Security, Data Governance, and Enterprise Architecture on SOC 2, data residency, and PII compliance requirements.

• Offer hands-on technical leadership to the integration engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software/integration engineering, with at least 3 years in an architect or technical lead position.

• Extensive hands-on experience in developing enterprise-scale API integrations/connectors: REST, GraphQL, gRPC, webhooks, and event streaming.

• Proficient understanding of MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar agent-tool-calling frameworks.

• Strong proficiency in at least one of Python or TypeScript/Node.js, with the ability to read the other.

• Practical experience with LLM/agent frameworks such as Anthropic/OpenAI SDKs, LangChain/LangGraph, or equivalent technologies.

• Familiarity with OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, API security, and secrets management, including tools like Vault or AWS/GCP secret managers.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes for containerization.

• Background in enterprise systems integration, particularly in ERP, finance, or procurement systems; experience with Coupa, NetSuite, or SAP is a significant advantage.

• Exceptional written communication skills in English.

• Capability to produce architecture documentation and lead design reviews with stakeholders from the US and globally.
