Senior Engineering Manager, Retailer Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a senior-focused team of approximately 12 engineers across various workstreams.

• Establish and uphold a cohesive technical vision for the team.

• Facilitate the integration of custom retailer-specific services onto a unified Instacart platform architecture.

• Collaborate with Machine Learning and Data Engineering to ensure long-term compliance of the enterprise data platform.

• Provide self-service tools for retailers and internal teams.

• Represent the technical and product trade-offs among various engineering and product organizations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering.

• At least 3 years of experience managing engineering teams that deliver platform or infrastructure products in a B2B or enterprise setting.

• Proven experience leading teams of more than 10 engineers.

• A track record of success in navigating ambiguous, high-growth environments.

• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership that influences results across multiple engineering and product organizations.

• Experience in leading architectural transitions across multiple teams.

• Technical expertise in distributed systems, API/SDK design, and cloud infrastructure (such as AWS or GCP).

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
