This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Recruit, manage, mentor, and motivate a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team of renewable energy development engineers in a fully remote setting.
• Cultivate a culture of trust, psychological safety, and heightened interpersonal awareness.
• Serve as the primary technical owner for a portfolio of intricate multi-million dollar energy projects, steering technical strategy, risk management, and execution from start to finish.
• Collaborate with Sales Executives to align engineering solutions with business development objectives.
• Advocate for superior technical development of solar PV, BESS, microgrid, and EV charging initiatives from early feasibility through to construction handoff.
• Ensure a smooth transition to Project Management by providing high-level technical direction during material procurement and construction phases.
• Continuously assess and enhance internal engineering processes, design tools, and best practices to expand the remote engineering department.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in renewable energy project development, engineering design, or a related area.
• Strong emotional intelligence: Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, resolve conflicts, mentor remote team members, and establish strong relationships with diverse customer profiles.
• Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfortable with uncertainty; a proactive self-starter who excels with minimal oversight, enjoys creating processes from the ground up, and treats project budgets and timelines with genuine ownership.
• Technical Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) license, NABCEP PV Installation/Technical Sales certification, or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) highly preferred.
• Advanced Technical Domain: Extensive experience with complex microgrid design, islanding configurations, grid services, and dispatch optimization modeling.
• Modeling Software Proficiency: Strong familiarity with or capability to guide teams using PVSyst, Helioscope, Aurora, Energy Toolbase, Xendee, and/or HOMER Pro.
• Financial & Analytical Acumen: Advanced skills in analyzing utility rate structures and validating financial metrics (NPV, IRR, simple payback).
• Remote Mastery: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills tailored for an asynchronous, fully remote work environment.
• Travel: Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for site visits, team alignment meetings, and high-priority customer presentations.
