Senior Engineering Manager, Fortary Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Oversee various teams responsible for delivering Fortary's custody solutions, transaction authorization, key management, wallet infrastructure, and blockchain integrations.

• Take charge of the architecture and strategic roadmap for the distributed MPC custody platform, encompassing disaster recovery, governance, and transaction policy controls.

• Collaborate with Product, Security, Business Development, and executive leadership to prioritize investments based on customer, regulatory, and business requirements.

• Support diverse deployment models: managed platforms and licensed software.

• Ensure engineering standards align with the security, compliance, and governance benchmarks as Fortary progresses towards chartered-institution status.

• Lead the response to incidents related to outages, security events, and key management situations.

• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering managers and senior engineers.

• Promote the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing teams that deliver production-scale secure distributed systems.

• Proven experience in owning large-scale, security-critical platforms from architecture to production.

• Extensive knowledge in modern cryptography and secure key management, including MPC, threshold signatures, TEEs, and HSMs.

• Background in building cloud-native systems (Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, observability) with a strong focus on security and resilience.

• Comprehensive understanding of compliance frameworks relevant to regulated finance, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, AML/KYC, and familiarity with the SEC/CFTC/OCC/MiCA landscape.

• Experience in digital asset infrastructure including custody, trading, staking, treasury, and blockchain settlement.

• Capable of effectively communicating with executives, institutional clients, auditors, and regulators.
