Senior Engineering Manager, Developer Productivity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee teams within Reddit's Developer Productivity and AI portfolio, which includes agent infrastructure, AI-assisted code review, developer environments, LLM governance, developer tooling, AI workflow measurement, and software delivery automation.

• Collaborate closely with engineering teams as a technical leader, ensuring a balance between execution, organizational alignment, technical excellence, and long-term platform vision.

• Lead and nurture high-performing engineering teams dedicated to enhancing AI-native developer productivity.

• Define and refine the operational framework for AI-native software development.

• Foster alignment among infrastructure, developer experience, reliability, security, compliance, product engineering, machine learning, and executive stakeholders.

• Create engineering systems and organizational processes to facilitate the transition from experimentation to sustainable adoption of AI-assisted workflows, while upholding quality, reliability, and operational safety.

• Establish communication and enablement strategies that engage engineers and leaders throughout the journey.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, engineering management, infrastructure, developer tools, platform engineering, AI tooling, or similar technical areas, with a background in leading engineering teams.

• Successfully managed high-performing engineering teams that deliver large-scale technical platforms or infrastructure with visibility to executives and across functional areas.

• Comfortable interacting with senior leaders while deeply engaging in technical and operational specifics.

• Extensive knowledge of developer productivity systems including CI/CD, code review, testing, deployment, observability, developer environments, internal platforms, or AI-assisted development workflows.

• Understanding of AI and LLM-enabled software development beyond just personal productivity.

• Highly data-informed, yet critical of superficial metrics.

• Outstanding cross-functional leader and communicator.

• Experience in driving significant organizational change, not limited to technical delivery.

• Strong commitment to engineering quality, operational excellence, and enhancing developer experience.

• Pragmatic and iterative in approach.
