This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Guide, mentor, and develop a team of engineers with a strong emphasis on personnel development, team well-being, and career advancement.
• Assist engineers through consistent coaching, constructive feedback, goal establishment, and discussions about career progression.
• Provide clarity for the team regarding priorities, expectations, ownership, and desired outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to outline priorities, drive execution, and achieve successful results.
• Support projects from initial planning and architecture to implementation, deployment, and long-term maintenance.
• Maintain engagement with the technical work by comprehending system design, reviewing technical plans, participating in architecture discussions, and aiding in evaluating trade-offs.
• Facilitate code reviews and provide technical feedback where beneficial, while primarily empowering the team rather than serving as a regular direct contributor.
• Assist in unblocking engineers by offering context, posing the right questions, connecting individuals, and clarifying priorities.
• Engage in the conceptualization and technical design of new ideas and product enhancements.
• Drive architectural enhancements that emphasize scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Reinforce robust engineering standards, development practices, testing habits, and ownership throughout the team.
• Encourage a culture of quality, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate directly with our CTO, engineering leadership, and cross-functional partners to continually enhance our products and technical foundation.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, mentorship, performance evaluations, and career growth within the engineering organization.
• Cultivate a collaborative, low-ego, high-ownership culture in a fully remote setting.
• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in developing modern web applications.
• Proven experience in managing, leading, or mentoring engineers in a dynamic technical landscape.
• A sincere interest in people management, coaching, feedback, and the growth of engineers.
• Strong technical judgment with the ability to comprehend code, architecture, system design, and engineering trade-offs.
• Comfort with participating in code reviews and technical discussions, even if not expected to contribute production code regularly.
• A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Computer Science.
• Capability to design systems and features with an emphasis on scalability, security, reliability, and performance.
• Experience with databases and analyzing queries for optimization opportunities.
• Proficient in working within a fully remote environment.
