• You have a solid grasp of algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and data storage technologies, allowing you to choose the most suitable tool for each task.
• Your enthusiasm is something you share with every team member at Joist. You have a passion for technology, teamwork, change, and creating a product that revolutionizes the industry.
• Over 5 years of experience leading engineers as a direct manager in a product development setting, ideally managing teams across multiple technology stacks.
• More than 5 years of professional experience as a software developer working within agile teams.
• A successful track record of mentoring and developing other engineers throughout your career.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of software projects, from initial scoping and estimation to live production deployment.
• You understand how to collaborate with Product Management to experiment, iterate, and deliver quickly for customers.
• The ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly and concisely in an accessible manner.
• You hold strong opinions on building exceptional software and products but are open to the perspectives of others; you know when to be adaptable and when to remain steadfast.
• You are an expert in agile software development processes and understand what it takes to run high-performing engineering teams.
