Senior Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Maintain sufficient hands-on expertise to effectively evaluate technical proposals, review architectural decisions, and engage with the codebase when critical obstacles arise.

• Establish and rigorously uphold engineering standards, practices for code quality, and high-performance delivery rhythms.

• Propel the implementation of cloud-native, microservices, and API-first architectures while remaining attentive to implementation specifics.

• Make tough, realistic choices regarding technical debt, delivery speed, and scalability, justifying those choices to senior stakeholders.

• Assume full responsibility for the Software Development Life Cycle across multiple accounts, from meticulous planning to incident management and retrospective analysis.

• Oversee capacity, productivity, and budgets across multiple workstreams, ensuring optimal efficiency without compromising quality.

• Actively identify, reveal, and mitigate technical or delivery risks, ensuring clients are never caught off guard by delays or technical failures.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of 8 to 15 engineers, recognizing underperformance early and nurturing a culture of high-stakes delivery.

• Serve as the main technical liaison for CTOs and VPs of Engineering, building trust through technical expertise and transparent communication.

• Transform abstract business objectives into tangible engineering priorities and vice versa.

• Discover technical opportunities within your accounts by comprehending the client's roadmap and proposing impactful technical solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering with a proven ability to develop scalable systems.

• More than 3 years in a leadership role as an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead Manager, overseeing distributed teams in high-pressure delivery environments.

• Extensive, hands-on experience with at least one core technology stack: Java, Python, or Node.js (capable of conducting in-depth code reviews).

• Strong background in Cloud-native, Microservices, and API design.

• Experience engaging with senior-level stakeholders (C-level/VP) in a consulting or digital transformation context.

• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is essential for managing international client relationships.
