Senior Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead, motivate, and expand multiple distributed software engineering teams, cultivating a culture of trust and psychological safety.

• Enhance engineering talent through effective coaching, mentorship, and performance management, emphasizing the growth of senior and staff-level engineers.

• Take ownership of the complete delivery and operational excellence of your teams' portfolio, ensuring that crucial user-facing systems are reliable and secure at scale.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and other cross-functional leaders to establish a clear vision, prioritize roadmaps, and align a long-term strategy that benefits the entire organization.

• Offer technical leadership and guidance by establishing architectural guardrails and influencing significant technical decisions without directly contributing code.

• Implement and maintain rigorous engineering standards, including SLAs/SLOs, security best practices, and QA processes to accelerate delivery and enhance product health.

• Advocate for inclusive, async-first practices to ensure your teams, distributed across approximately an 8-hour time zone range, can collaborate efficiently.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive software development experience as an individual contributor, along with a proven history as an Engineering Manager leading multiple, distributed software engineering teams.

• Strong product awareness and a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality results throughout the entire product lifecycle, including experience with B2B SaaS products, from backend services and APIs to critical user-facing workflows.

• Proven capability to provide technical depth, delving into complex architectural issues and guiding senior engineers towards sound decisions.

• A strategic thinker, comfortable with setting technical vision over a 6-12 month timeframe and managing a complex portfolio of projects.

• Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional partners in a remote-first environment.

• A successful track record of hiring and developing senior talent, coupled with a passion for assisting engineers in advancing their careers.

• Strong sense of ownership and a growth mindset; you are a collaborative, humble learner who can excel in a fast-paced environment.
