Senior Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of engineering excellence, delivery, team well-being, and technical quality across the amplo platform.

• Establish the metrics, evaluate the current status of the team, and create a clear roadmap for enhancing software development processes.

• Act as the intermediary between engineering realities and business needs.

• Assist engineers in linking their daily activities to customer outcomes and organizational priorities.

• Directly oversee a team of approximately 10 engineers and foster a team culture aimed at achieving true high performance.

• Function within SOC 2 Type 2 controls and collaborate with compliance on evidence gathering and audits.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience, including over 4 years in a managerial role within a SaaS environment.

• A skillset focused on operational excellence – you have developed the systems, rituals, and metrics that enable engineering teams to perform consistently well.

• A solid technical background with expertise in backend and/or data engineering; you possess the depth required to earn the team's trust and facilitate the right trade-offs.

• Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between highly technical concepts and non-technical stakeholders, including engineers, customers, and executives.

• Proven history of cultivating team culture and functioning as an effective people manager.

• Experience working in compliance-driven environments (SOC2 or similar).

• Excellent communication skills and comfort in a predominantly asynchronous, remote-first setting.
