Senior Engineering Consultant – Civil/Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main technical contact for both regional and national commercial real estate clients.

• Oversee and manage Property Condition Assessments (PCAs), Building Surveys (BSAs), commercial real estate due diligence, and construction monitoring projects.

• Handle multi-site client programs and portfolios, comprising over 50 properties.

• Offer technical expertise in commercial, land, site, retail, and industrial development.

• Assess civil/site conditions such as grading, drainage, utilities, paving, stormwater, and other site enhancements.

• Analyze technical reports, construction documents, plans, specifications, schedules, budgets, and third-party evaluations.

• Provide construction oversight and technical advice throughout the development and construction phases.

• Assist with municipal permitting, approvals, entitlements, and development processes.

• Create scopes, technical recommendations, proposals, and deliverables for clients.

• Supervise, guide, mentor, and coordinate technical professionals, including assessors, architects, engineers, project managers, and subcontractors.

• Lead and coordinate a team of 5 or more technical staff or multidisciplinary resources as required by the program.

• Conduct site visits and field observations as necessary.

• Foster trusted relationships with clients and support business development through technical expertise.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in performing or managing PCAs, BSAs, commercial due diligence, construction monitoring, or related real estate consulting; candidates with 8–9 years of highly relevant experience may also be considered.

• Demonstrated experience in managing regional or national client portfolios, ideally with multi-site programs involving over 50 properties.

• Experience in serving as the primary technical contact and lead for clients.

• Capability to supervise or direct technical staff, assessors, architects, engineers, project managers, and subcontractors.

• Background in commercial, land, site, retail, or industrial development and construction.

• Strong knowledge of commercial construction, site development, real estate development, and property due diligence processes.

• Excellent client communication, technical writing, problem-solving, and project management skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Real Estate Development, or a related field is preferred.

• A Civil Engineering background is preferred, although a robust Project Manager or Development Project Manager profile may be accepted in lieu of the degree if backed by significant technical, development, construction, and due diligence experience.

• Preferred certifications: PE (Civil), CCM, or PMP.

• Experience with ASTM E2018/PCA standards is preferred.
