Senior Engineer, Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Support the design of Bare Metal OpenShift clusters optimized for virtualization, ensuring excellent performance for demanding VM workloads.

• Oversee the complete migration lifecycle from VMware vSphere to OpenShift.

• Proficient in configuring Portworx as the storage solution on Pure Storage.

• Experience in managing backup and disaster recovery within Red Hat OpenShift environments.

• Oversee VM-specific "Day 2" operations, including Live Migration, node maintenance/draining, and high-availability (HA) scheduling.

• Actively monitor our systems utilizing CheckMK.

• Diagnose complex technical problems, conducting thorough root cause analysis.

• Collaborate with a team of adept engineers to share insights and enhance processes.

• Engage in a rotating on-call schedule to offer after-hours support for critical infrastructure.

• Willingness to work weekends for project rollouts and maintenance tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience in Systems Engineering.

• 2-4 years of direct experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift (preferably in an MSP environment).

• 1-3 years of strong Linux administration expertise.

• Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator.

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization.

• Availability to work UK business hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as part of the on-call rotation.
