Senior Engineer, SRE TechOps CICD

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the availability and health of essential services within the CICD environment.

• Develop software and systems to oversee platform infrastructure and applications.

• Propel automation for service deployment and operational workflows.

• Assume on-call responsibilities and lead incident responses along with blameless postmortems to identify root causes.

• Collect and analyze operating-system and application metrics for performance optimization and root-cause analysis.

• Facilitate system design discussions, production readiness assessments, and capacity planning.

• Assess and incorporate agentic and AI-assisted workflows.

• Guide mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, design collaborations, and incident retrospectives.

• Explore emerging technologies and propose solutions aligned with future roadmap objectives.

• Establish and maintain automated reporting on service health and compliance.

• Offer technical feedback on projects beyond the core ownership area.

• Collaborate with senior engineers and engineering leaders to enhance cross-team reliability.

• Contribute to the Embedded SRE model and fortify SRE/service-team partnerships.

⛳️ Requirements

• Eligibility for CJIS clearance is mandatory, requiring U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status.

• Over 10 years of experience in large-scale production SRE or infrastructure settings.

• At least 3 years of experience utilizing and integrating AI-assisted workflows.

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a similarly technical, scientific discipline, or comparable work experience.

• Expertise in deploying and operating CI/CD tools such as Bazel, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and GitHub Actions, both on-premise and in the cloud.

• Proficient in IaC provisioning tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, and Terraform.

• Familiarity with source code management tools including Bitbucket, GitHub, and GitLab.

• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, Humio/LogScale, Honeycomb, New Relic, Prometheus, and Splunk.

• Skilled in creating, deploying, operating, and scaling applications on Kubernetes.

• Extensive experience in deploying and managing databases like Cassandra, Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Kafka, and Redis/Valkey at scale.

• Proficient in programming languages like Python, Go, Bash, and PowerShell.

• Experience with storage technologies including SAN, NAS, NFS, and object storage.

• Knowledge in architecting and deploying big data systems.

• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles.

• Demonstrated ability to make prompt decisions in ambiguous situations and balance operational requirements with strategic objectives.

• Capability to collaborate with a distributed team across various time zones.

• Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to improve decision-making, streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and achieve business outcomes.

• Periodic additional background and fingerprint checks may be necessary.

• Bonus: Knowledge of networking and troubleshooting, familiarity with multiple cloud hyperscalers, self-service provisioning platforms, Active Directory/Windows Server, hybrid environments, and data science/machine learning/ETL tools.
