This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design, create, and sustain internal platforms and tools that support the People, Finance, Operations, Sales, and Engineering teams.
• Take ownership of features, managing the entire lifecycle from requirements gathering, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, to monitoring.
• Produce clean, well-tested, production-ready code.
• Develop API-first integrations across the internal ecosystem, linking HRIS, CRM, finance platforms, knowledge management, and developer tools into a unified stack.
• Design for reliability, performance, and scalability; ensure what you build today can accommodate the company’s growth by 5–10x.
• Break down data silos. Create efficient data pipelines that uphold a single source of truth across various systems.
• Manage your services in production: including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and conducting post-mortems.
• Incorporate AI/LLM-powered features into internal workflows, automating approvals, knowledge retrieval, reporting, content generation, and operational processes.
• Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to identify challenges and convert them into technical solutions.
• Partner with and mentor junior engineers. Elevate the technical standards through code reviews, design reviews, and leading by example.
• Suggest architectural enhancements, question assumptions, and promote best practices within the team.
• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience, particularly in developing internal tools, platforms, or business systems.
• Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) is essential.
• Strong skills in full-stack or backend engineering, with proficiency in at least one of the following: Python, Go, TypeScript/Node.js, or Java.
• In-depth knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure (GCP/AWS/Azure), Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD Pipelines, and contemporary DevOps practices.
• Practical experience in building and maintaining API integrations with third-party SaaS platforms (e.g., Workday, Salesforce, Slack, NetSuite).
• Solid grasp of data fundamentals, including relational databases, data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and working knowledge of SQL.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity. You can dissect a vague business problem and deliver a functional solution independently.
• Effective communicator capable of explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (Temporal, Airflow, Prefect) or integration platforms (Workato, Tray.io, MuleSoft) is a plus.
• Experience with frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, or other modern frameworks is a plus.
• Understanding of HRIS, ERP, or people systems data models and processes is advantageous.
• Experience in a high-growth or AI-native company is beneficial.
