
Senior Engineer, High Voltage Cable

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Design and develop high-voltage cables, their components, and comprehensive systems for new projects and delivery.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Installation teams to ensure technical assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as a technical consultant to clients and assist the sales team in technical sales efforts.
• Manage High Voltage Cable design and offer technical insights for intricate electrical cable systems.
• Generate detailed design specifications and oversee system integration.
• Assess designs, materials, and methods against project specifications and industry standards.
• Enhance the cable design process from initial concept through testing and final rollout.
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders regarding specifications, materials, timelines, and technical concerns.
• Review project execution, system performance, and field-installation data to suggest enhancements.
• Assist in routine testing and performance assessments of cable systems.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and customers about design expectations, project status, and problem-solving.
• Recognize opportunities for improving cable-system designs and production processes while addressing technical challenges.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or certification is required.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Capability to design high-voltage cable systems and their components.
• Proficiency in creating detailed design specifications and overseeing system integration.
• Skill in evaluating designs, materials, and methods based on project requirements and industry regulations.
• Ability to assess project execution, system performance, and field-installation data.
• Experience in supporting cable-system testing and performance evaluations.
• Competence in Continuous Improvement, Process Control, Systems Engineering, Design Process, Influencing Skills, Investigation, New Product Development, Project Scheduling, Schematic Capture, and Troubleshooting (Problem Solving).
• Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally up to 25% of the time.
• Capability to work in an office, on a plant/warehouse floor, in extreme heat or cold, in loud environments, and around equipment.
• Adherence to safety requirements, including the use of hard hats, computers/keyboards, safety glasses, safety shoes, and safety vests as necessary.
