Senior Engineer – FedRamp, AWS, Java Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

• Develop high-quality enterprise-level code and deliver it on schedule.

• Design significant systems and services, comprehending cross-team interactions, selecting suitable patterns and technologies, and articulating trade-offs clearly.

• Refactor existing code to enhance efficiency, extensibility, and maintainability.

• Assume full responsibility for the quality of delivered code, either through personal review or through other code reviews.

• Facilitate design discussions and reviews while mentoring others on architectural best practices.

• Communicate complex designs effectively, including whiteboarding systems within your complete area of responsibility.

• Take ownership and demonstrate accountability for outcomes to all team members, peers, and stakeholders.

• Troubleshoot production issues and implement configuration or coding changes to resolve them.

• Exhibit deep expertise in primary programming languages and frameworks, crafting highly optimized, scalable, and maintainable code.

• Proactively tackle performance and security considerations at a systemic level, ensuring compliance in a highly regulated environment.

• Address complex and ambiguous debugging challenges across system boundaries.

• Establish and promote coding standards and best practices within the team or area.

• Influence technical direction through exemplary code contributions and design patterns.

• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to standards and the delivery of high-quality outputs.

• Be responsible for producing architectural proposals in consultation with engineering leadership members.

• Lead by example through work ethic, attitude, and professionalism, positively influencing peers and potentially mentoring informally.

• Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development, utilizing at least 2 different programming languages.

• More than 3 years of experience with Java Spring Boot Rest development, with a deep understanding of the frameworks associated with Spring Boot.

• At least 1 year of experience working with Amazon Web Services systems for development and production applications, emphasizing high availability and scalability.

• Prior experience with highly regulated SaaS platforms.

• Interest in enhancing development output using AI tools effectively, without compromising quality.

• Ability to deconstruct larger initiatives effectively, ensuring high standards of accuracy and completeness in deliverables.

• Manage complex workloads efficiently and provide thorough updates.

• Proactively identify and resolve issues affecting delivery.

• Collaborate closely with Technical Project Management to create and maintain the prioritized backlog and schedule for the team.

• Display an inclusive, hands-on work ethic by being willing to engage in daily workloads when necessary to meet deadlines.

• Proactively identify, address, or escalate problems; anticipate potential issues and communicate them effectively without overreacting.

• Excellent communication skills, demonstrated by the ability to convey complex topics to larger audiences.

• Strong organizational skills, including the capacity to respond swiftly in a fast-paced environment.

• Understanding of software development life cycle methodologies, with hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum and Waterfall process environments.

• Competence in relevant languages and frameworks, including familiarity with Java Spring Boot Rest development.

• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and/or Oracle.

• Hands-on experience in building specifications and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Experience with large volume web-based applications.

• Experience in constructing scalable websites.

• Experience conducting code reviews and enforcing best coding practices.

• Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps workflows.

• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain legacy systems to ensure long-term stability.
