Senior Engineer – Database Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Maintain an extensive understanding of data components, such as Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, utilizing this knowledge to manage and automate well-configured clusters.

• Create infrastructure services that aid the CrowdStrike engineering team's journey towards a comprehensive DevOps model.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Customer Support to resolve urgent production issues, no matter when they arise.

• Ensure the safety, security, and accessibility of petabytes of essential business data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in configuration management (Chef, Salt, Kubernetes) and/or strong proficiency in Ruby.

• Proficiency with large-scale data stores utilizing technologies like Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, and MySQL.

• Background in managing large-scale, business-critical Linux environments.

• Familiarity with operating in cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services, GCP, or OCI.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with both local and remote teams.

• Proven track record of making sound decisions, especially in critical situations.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

• A blend of confidence and independence, along with the wisdom to seek assistance from colleagues when necessary.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Engineering.

• Documented experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, optimize workflows and processes, boost efficiency, and drive business results.
