This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Lead or assist in traffic engineering, signal operations/signal timing, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) design, execution, and integration projects across Pennsylvania and neighboring areas.
• Spearhead the creation and implementation of strategies aimed at enhancing arterial traffic flow and safety; prepare system performance measurement tools, standard operating policies/procedures, deficiency reports, and mitigation plans; collaborate with local agencies regarding the operation and maintenance of traffic signals and arterial systems.
• Supervise and provide prominent customer traffic operations support through on-site signal timing implementation and optimization, as well as evaluating existing traffic operations challenges.
• Partner with client management to deliver projects that meet the clients' expectations while aligning with business objectives.
• Engage in local and regional business development initiatives.
• Foster strategic thinking to expand business opportunities and boost client retention rates.
• Regularly participate in coordination meetings and consult with other team members.
• Assist in staff management while offering mentorship and training to engineering and planning personnel.
• Identify client requirements and formulate a plan and proposal for project delivery.
• A Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical institution) is required, with a focus in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Electrical Engineering, or a related area.
• Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification, or International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) certification is preferred.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in transportation engineering or a related discipline is essential.
• At least three (3) years of experience in managing projects and/or programs for public agencies, including staff management and mentorship.
• Must be based in Pennsylvania and possess experience working with Pennsylvania DOT or major public sector clients (either as a consultant or public sector employee).
• Familiarity with tools such as Synchro, Sim Traffic, VISSIM (a multi-model traffic flow simulation software package), AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc., is required.
