Senior Energy Market Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Become an expert in European energy markets.

• Lead projects that develop energy market models and implement Energy Exemplar’s PLEXOS software.

• Assist in business development by producing thought leadership content.

• Facilitate requirements gathering workshops.

• Design modeling strategies utilizing the PLEXOS software.

• Provide consultation on how clients can leverage PLEXOS to facilitate strategic transformations.

• Develop Proof of Concept studies.

• Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations.

• Prepare technical proposal documents and respond to RFIs/RFPs.

• Conduct research and analyze trends in EMEA energy markets.

⛳️ Requirements

• Understanding of electricity markets, power trading, or electrical systems planning and operations.

• Experience in energy market supply and demand modeling using optimization/unit commitment tools (preferably commercial tools such as PLEXOS, BID3, Antares, SDDP, PROMOD, etc.).

• Strong analytical abilities.

• Excellent interpersonal presence and relationship-building capabilities.

• Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong listening and presentation capabilities.

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

• Self-motivated, results-oriented attitude with a commitment to quality.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities.

• Strong sense of urgency and focus on achieving objectives.

• Keen desire for personal and professional advancement.

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, Operations Research, or a related field.

• Ideally specialized in Electricity Systems and/or Electricity Markets.

• 5–7 years of experience in energy markets, with a solid grasp of: energy economics and market fundamentals, energy systems operation and/or engineering.

• Familiarity with PLEXOS or other mathematically based optimization tools.
