Senior Energy Consultant – Renewable Engineering Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical consulting and advisory services to developers of utility-scale projects in solar, wind, gas, battery energy storage, and other energy sectors.

• Offer independent engineering and due diligence services for lenders and investors assessing financing opportunities for power and infrastructure projects.

• Execute technical, economic, and market analyses for grid operators, utilities, and research organizations.

• Conduct planning studies and develop business cases for utilities, independent power producers, and governmental agencies.

• Collaborate with project teams within the Consulting division.

• Engage directly with power plant developers, owners, lenders, and investors during consulting engagements.

• Contribute to the advancement of renewable energy, battery storage, and utility planning/advisory practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering; other engineering disciplines may also be considered.

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in the power sector.

• Proficiency in one or more areas such as the design of utility-scale solar, wind, and/or battery energy storage projects; independent engineering and due diligence for power projects; power project development; and construction management for solar, wind, and/or battery energy storage projects.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience in drafting technical reports and proposals.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and lead others effectively.

• Skills in project planning and leadership.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States; Sargent & Lundy does not provide work authorization sponsorship.

• Experience in project finance or financial modeling for power projects is advantageous.

• Familiarity with owner's engineering activities during the execution of power projects is a plus.

• A Master's degree in engineering or business is an asset.
