
Senior Employment and Litigation Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead and implement WelbeHealth’s employment legal strategy to support a diverse workforce and multi-state operations, while also acting as the primary legal advisor for all employment-related litigation and pre-litigation matters from initiation to resolution.
• Oversee all claims and disputes initiated by third parties, as well as manage sensitive internal investigations related to employee complaints and regulatory risks.
• Stay updated on key federal and state employment laws, providing legal counsel on relevant federal and state regulatory matters.
• Create and execute strategies and tools aimed at reducing the risk of employment-related litigation.
• Draft employment-related documents, including policies, separation agreements, and arbitration agreements, in addition to leading employment law preparedness for expansion into new states.
• Facilitate training programs for team members on compliance, risk awareness, and preventative measures.
• Collaborate closely with outside counsel on matters that require specialized legal expertise.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution; must have passed the state bar and be in good standing.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a preference for both law firm and in-house experience.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable employment laws.
• Demonstrated capability to manage complex litigation and negotiations with minimal oversight.
• Ability to proactively foresee and identify legal issues, developing strategies and solutions to address them effectively.
• Experience in leading within a data-driven environment, utilizing reports and data to prioritize and manage people and projects.
• Must be open and able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
