Senior Embedded Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create C++ applications to manage next-generation satellite terminals.

• Design, develop, test, and integrate software from initial requirements through to production and commercial rollout.

• Assist in estimating the time and resources needed for new functionalities.

• Engage in design and peer code review sessions.

• Enhance the overall quality of products.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address feature dependencies.

• Integrate and validate new product designs.

• Serve as a member of an Agile scrum team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software development.

• Knowledge of hardware design and architecture.

• Proficient in C/C++ object-oriented programming and development.

• Experience working in a Linux or POSIX operating system environment.

• Familiarity with software configuration management, defect-tracking systems, and peer review processes.

• Strong skills in documentation and writing.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software, Systems, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.

• Experience in embedded development, including hardware debugging, device drivers, and real-time constraints, is advantageous.

• Experience in cross-functional hardware, firmware, and software development and verification is a plus.

• Knowledge of satellite communications protocols such as DVB-S2 and TDMA is beneficial.

• Understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, and IPv6 is a plus.

• Experience with X.509 certificate and cryptographic key management is advantageous.

• Skills in shell scripting, Perl, Lua, or Python are a plus.

• Familiarity with Docker, Conan, CMake, and C++11 is beneficial.

• Knowledge of tools like Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Git, SharePoint, Jenkins, and Artifactory is advantageous.

• Working knowledge of GCC, grep/awk/sed command-line tools, Bash scripting, GDB debugger, and systemd suite is a plus.
