Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Creating high-quality firmware for devices that support Matter.

• Taking ownership of the firmware development process throughout the entire device lifecycle.

• Engaging in hardware troubleshooting and validation activities.

• Working closely with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional experience in embedded/firmware engineering using C/C++.

• Extensive experience with ESP-IDF, specifically avoiding Arduino wrappers.

• Proven track record of implementing Matter on ESP32-series silicon.

• Practical experience with at least one Matter transport at the firmware level.

• Skilled in debugging commissioning workflows, interoperability failures, and protocol-level challenges.

• Knowledge of secure boot, flash encryption, and device attestation within the Matter framework.

• Ability to read specifications and convert them into functional firmware.

• Must reside in Costa Rica.

• Must have the right to work without sponsorship on a permanent basis.
