This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead the planning of system-level architecture for Server/AI platforms, which includes defining product configurations, functional partitioning, and aligning mechanical, thermal, power, and cooling feasibility.
• Drive the establishment of system requirements, interface specifications, and preliminary configuration options (such as GPU, accelerator, storage, and compute servers).
• Conduct architectural trade-off analyses to balance performance, cost, power, scalability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with electrical engineering, thermal, mechanical, BMC, and firmware architects to create a comprehensive product-level concept package.
• Work alongside Architecture and Business Unit teams to assess RFQ/RFI requirements and develop competitive architecture proposals.
• Define and recommend system topologies, mechanical footprints, airflow designs, I/O mappings, and cabling solutions.
• Interface with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of design intent and value proposition during the concept phase.
• Present and document concept proposals that encompass block diagrams, design strategies, trade-off summaries, and risk evaluations.
• Stay informed about Open Compute (OCP), Computer Express Link (CXL), or Open BMC.
• Evaluate and incorporate technology enablers such as PCIe Gen5/6, high-efficiency power stages, and innovative materials.
• Participate in roadmap planning with Business Units and CTO to ensure platform reusability and alignment with future-generation technologies.
• Define interactions among electrical, mechanical, thermal, and firmware domains to support functional and performance objectives.
• Coordinate platform-level integration strategies, including motherboard placement, airflow optimization, and system serviceability.
• Align system-level DFM/EMC/thermal reliability requirements in the early phases and guide downstream teams with clear targets.
• Lead the development of architecture presentations, system requirements, platform-level block diagrams, and Bill of Materials-level feasibility plans.
• Drive both internal and customer-facing design reviews to ensure architecture alignment and requirement approvals.
• Maintain documentation for issue tracking and lessons learned to enhance future concept efficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
