Distinguished Engineer – System & Rack Hardware Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop the comprehensive architecture for AI platforms, covering everything from node-level design to rack-scale composable systems.

• Promote the use of PCIe/UAlink-based fabrics for scalable disaggregated compute, memory, and accelerator solutions.

• Design solutions for systems that are dense with GPUs/accelerators, ensuring optimization for AI training and inference tasks.

• Oversee the integration of connectivity solutions, including retimers, switches, and fabric controllers, in alignment with Astera Labs' product ecosystem.

• Direct the system architecture and design for high-performance computing platforms tailored for AI and accelerator-driven workloads.

• Establish and implement GPU-enabled server platforms for AI training, inference, and high-performance computing tasks.

• Articulate the technical vision and multi-year product roadmap for AI infrastructure platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 15 years of experience in system architecture, server firmware, or platform engineering.

• Profound knowledge in server BIOS/UEFI, OpenBMC and BMC firmware stacks, along with Redfish or datacenter management frameworks.

• In-depth understanding of PCIe architecture and performance optimization across Gen4/5/6.

• Experienced in tuning CPU, memory, and system-level performance for high-performance computing or AI platforms.

• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and experience with low-level system software.

• Demonstrated history of leading large-scale architectural initiatives across cross-functional teams.
