This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Evaluate construction blueprints to ascertain the quantities and costs of materials, fixtures, and necessary labor for bids.
• Collaborate with clients to secure contracts.
• Assist in implementing strategies to enhance company effectiveness and efficiency.
• Develop or modify estimates, proposals, and change orders.
• Cooperate with business development and project management to create precise proposals that encompass labor, time, and materials.
• Recognize project cost trends to aid in cost reduction and process improvements.
• Oversee the transition of projects from estimating to project management post-award.
• Solicit material and equipment quotes from vendors and suppliers.
• Assess supplier quotes for compliance with requests and accuracy.
• Conduct takeoffs for assigned projects and supervise takeoffs for projects led by the team.
• Direct team bids by comprehending RFP and bid documents while delegating tasks effectively.
• Spearhead design/build bids and identify as well as quantify project unknowns or ambiguities.
• Mentor new estimators in the strategies and processes of the estimating department.
• Perform weekly outreach and follow-up on outstanding bids.
• At least 8 years of estimating experience in the electrical industry.
• Experience in large commercial, industrial, or water treatment sectors is preferred.
• Proficient in using electrical estimating software, such as Accubid.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an Electrical Journeyman’s License.
• Exceptional quantitative and analytical abilities.
• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam, with a capacity to quickly learn new software.
• Familiarity with the National Electric Code and electrical theory.
• Skilled in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and data sheets.
• Experience in laying out electrical equipment and systems, including design/build concepts such as electrical one-lines and feeder/branch circuit analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management and capability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
• Leadership qualities, balancing individual and team duties.
• Self-driven and adaptable to changes in business strategies.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds regularly; may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
