This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Examine construction blueprints to ascertain the quantities and costs of materials, fixtures, and necessary labor.
• Collaborate with clients to secure contracts.
• Assist in implementing strategies to enhance company effectiveness and efficiency.
• Generate or modify estimates, proposals, and change orders for both current and prospective projects.
• Partner with business development and project management teams to create precise proposals that encompass labor, time, and materials.
• Recognize project cost trends to aid management in cost reduction and process enhancement.
• Oversee the transition of projects between estimating and project management once awarded.
• Solicit material and equipment quotes from vendors and suppliers.
• Assess supplier quotes for compliance with requests and ensure accuracy.
• Execute takeoffs for assigned projects and supervise takeoffs for projects led by the team.
• Direct team bids by comprehending RFP and bid documents and assigning tasks based on team members' experience and abilities.
• Lead design/build bids while identifying and quantifying project uncertainties or ambiguities.
• Mentor new estimators regarding strategies and processes within the estimating department.
• Conduct weekly outreach and follow up on outstanding bids.
• Balance individual and team duties while prioritizing the overall success of bids.
• At least eight (8) years of estimating experience in the electrical industry.
• Preference for experience in large commercial, industrial, or water treatment projects.
• Proficient knowledge of electrical estimating software such as Accubid.
• An associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field or an Electrical Journeyman’s License.
• Exceptional quantitative and analytical abilities.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Bluebeam, with a swift capacity to learn new software.
• Familiarity with the National Electric Code and electrical theory.
• Skilled in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and data sheets.
• Experience in the layout of electrical equipment and systems, including design/build concepts like electrical one-lines and feeder/branch circuit analysis.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Problem-solving aptitude to identify and resolve issues in a timely and analytical manner.
• Effective time management, planning, organization, and capacity to manage multiple initiatives at once.
• Willingness to travel, both scheduled and unscheduled, on a limited basis.
• Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk and work on a computer.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds at times.
