This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.
β’ Take the lead in developing electrical cost estimates independently across all design phases, from conceptual and ROM estimates to final construction documentation.
β’ Create comprehensive material and labor estimates for Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, Communications, Audio-Visual, Security, Video Surveillance, and Fire Alarm systems.
β’ Conduct research to establish unit pricing, cost assemblies, and the necessary assumptions using up-to-date market data.
β’ Recognize gaps in information, scope discrepancies, inconsistencies, interdisciplinary conflicts, and possible cost risks.
β’ Formulate assumptions and solutions in situations where complete project information is not available.
β’ Oversee estimate reconciliations, technical and quality-control reviews, contractor bid analyses, value engineering evaluations, life-cycle and benefit-cost analyses, and interdisciplinary coordination efforts.
β’ Handle numerous complex estimating tasks and priorities while adhering to deadlines and ensuring accuracy.
β’ Mentor and guide junior estimators in areas such as estimating, quantity takeoffs, cost buildups, reconciliations, technical reviews, plan analysis, reporting, and Connico practices.
β’ Assist in developing training materials and establishing repeatable best practices.
β’ Maintain estimating data, cost assemblies, templates, and reporting methodologies.
β’ Cultivate client relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor.
β’ Engage in client meetings, project site visits, and industry events as necessary.
β’ A minimum of 10 years of full-time, hands-on experience in electrical estimating.
β’ Possession of a Journeyman Electrician License, Master Electrician License, Electrical Engineering degree, or a comparable mix of electrical expertise and experience.
β’ An industry-recognized professional certification, license, or advanced credential such as CCP, CPE, PCSE, CEP, CCE, PE, or another pertinent advanced qualification.
β’ Capacity to independently generate high-quality electrical estimates across Levels 1β5 and all design stages, including conceptual and ROM estimates with limited data.
β’ Proven experience in managing complex estimating assignments, integrating estimate components across disciplines, meeting deadlines, ensuring quality, and engaging professionally with clients and stakeholders.
β’ Ability to interpret architectural, civil, electrical, and other engineering drawings and specifications.
β’ Proficiency in electrical estimating or takeoff software, including IntelliBid, Accubid, On-Screen Takeoff, MII, MCACES, or similar systems.
β’ Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Word.
β’ Experience in aviation or airport electrical estimating is highly preferred.
β’ Background in federal government, Department of Defense or military facilities, energy and utilities, transportation and infrastructure, industrial, mission-critical, or similarly complex projects is valuable.
β’ Must live full-time in the U.S.
