Senior Electrical Engineer – Substation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serves as a technical leader and utilizes standard engineering methods and practices for substation design projects.

• Organizes, schedules, executes, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project tasks.

• Provides design recommendations, modifications, and adaptations for utility substations, relay automation equipment, and associated drawings.

• Conducts calculations employing engineering formulas and expertise.

• Offers technical support and guidance to fellow engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.

• Completion of an ABET accredited program or its equivalent is required.

• A PE License is essential.

• At least 10 years of engineering experience is necessary.

• Proficient in substation protection and control design along with industry standards.

• Able to review and create design drawings, including one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel elevations.

• Competence in performing AC & DC substation studies.

• Skills in substation SCADA, communication, and network engineering are advantageous.

• Familiarity with substation electrical physical (apparatus) equipment is a plus.

• Experience with commissioning and/or field engineering is beneficial.

• Understanding of basic relay settings is a plus.

• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) is advantageous.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
