This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead design initiatives that are in alignment with the strategic direction and objectives of the company.
• Propel the development and execution of processes, equipment, and standards for data center projects.
• Oversee Electrical Design review activities for the establishment of new Data Centers, ensuring adherence to corporate standards and customer specifications.
• Engage in all stages of project execution, encompassing conceptual design, basis of design, scope of work, construction document development, and commissioning.
• Provide leadership for electrical design consultants and contractors, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion of tasks and milestones.
• Participate in project design team meetings and on-site inspections as necessary to confirm that the final product aligns with engineering standards and specifications.
• Conduct value engineering assessments and offer system recommendations based on return on investment (ROI) and internal rate of return (IRR) evaluations.
• Responsible for reviewing technical drawings, including schematic drawings, design and construction documents, main submittals, operational sequences, and commissioning scripts.
• Assist Site Operations by troubleshooting and fine-tuning existing systems to enhance performance.
• Collaborate extensively with internal engineering teams across all disciplines to ensure that products delivered to Operations are streamlined and optimized to meet business needs across all functions.
• Work in close partnership with Operations to balance cost-effective solutions with long-term operational sustainability.
• Provide technical support to Sales during site tours, responses to RFPs, and customer Build To Suit (BTS) Data Center solutions.
• Engage in the product development process from conception to the implementation of the company’s Intellectual Property (IP) initiatives.
• Pursue continuous professional development through training, participation in professional organizations, and ongoing education.
• Review engineering studies including short-circuit and over-current protection device coordination studies, Arc Flash mitigation studies, rack layout optimization, distribution analysis, and Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) calculations.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by Management.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited university or college.
• Professional Engineering license in any state within the United States.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in design and construction is required, with 10+ years preferred.
• A working knowledge of critical electrical and cooling infrastructure within a data center is required.
• Experience in data center design and/or construction is required.
• Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and standards, such as NEC, NERC, IEEE, NFPA, and local building codes.
• Experience with North American construction markets is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to conduct feasibility studies and technical analyses.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Navisworks, and SCCS modeling software environments.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
