Senior Electrical Engineer – Preconstruction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• You will assist in converting actual electrical workflows into product specifications and validation processes.

• Establish how the electrical scope is formulated and verified during the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase.

• Assess and validate electrical inputs and equipment specifications throughout the initial phase packages.

• Develop repeatable checks that identify discrepancies in load assumptions, equipment requirements, and package interfaces.

• Analyze the areas where electrical rework occurs and the typical reasons behind it.

• Clarify interfaces with Mechanical packages, Instrumentation, and overall project constraints.

• Distinguish between steps that are repetitive and those that necessitate genuine engineering judgment.

• Your expertise will guide the establishment of checks, workflows, and product specifications that enable software to manage the repetitive tasks, allowing engineers to maintain oversight.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in an EPC, PMC, or owner-operator setting.

• In-depth knowledge of FEED and early detailed design electrical workflows.

• Familiarity with standard downstream electrical deliverables such as load lists, equipment specifications, and distribution concepts.

• Understanding of NFPA, IEC, IEEE, or equivalent standards.

• Capability to identify inconsistencies among equipment specifications and vendor packages.

• A solid grasp of cross-discipline dependencies.

• Experience with brownfield tie-ins and constrained power systems (Nice to Have).

• Familiarity with requirements driven by hazardous areas in downstream facilities (Nice to Have).

• A keen interest in AI or automation (Nice to Have).
