This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead or support the electrical design of power distribution systems, including medium- and low-voltage power, lightning protection, and grounding systems for Department of Defense and mission-critical facility projects.
• Create integrated control sequences and schematics for power distribution devices.
• Develop and refine product specifications for power distribution systems and electrical components.
• Collaborate directly with client Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on power system components, controls, and integration.
• Generate designs from site assessments and conceptual designs through to final design throughout the project lifecycle.
• Translate and implement client requirements into designs that comply with code standards.
• Create and oversee electrical plans and details utilizing Revit or AutoCAD software.
• Conduct power systems studies by constructing electrical models in SKM or similar applications.
• Perform onsite electrical evaluations and visits to construction sites.
• Execute quality control assessments of electrical engineering designs.
• Mentor entry-level engineers.
• Prepare and review cost estimates for electrical design and construction projects.
• Manage construction administration tasks, including review of shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience and/or education.
• Minimum of 8 years of pertinent electrical power system design experience.
• US Citizenship is mandatory.
• A valid US Driver's License is required.
• Must successfully complete AECOM's motor vehicle records assessment.
• A Professional Engineer's license is preferred.
• Over 15 years of experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with spot networks, micro-grid systems, lighting design, and electrical commissioning is preferred.
• Experience in developing Architecture/Engineering service proposals is preferred.
• Proven ability to work in a time-sensitive setting with direct client interaction and a high level of accountability is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications is required.
• Capability to prioritize tasks, multitask, plan, adapt, and self-initiate in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
• Experience in telecommunications design, including telecommunications networks, audio/visual, and electronic security design for DoD and mission-critical projects is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with Department of Defense standards, including Unified Facilities Criteria and the National Electric Code is preferred.
