This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the electrical engineering implementation of large-scale gas power generation projects from initial estimating through construction support and project completion.
• Create preliminary electrical designs for proposals that include considerations for power quality, system reliability, constructability, cost efficiency, and Blattner best practices.
• Manage the development of the Basis of Design (BOD), conduct electrical engineering reviews, handle RFIs, and produce technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Evaluate electrical one-line diagrams, protection and control schemes, grounding systems, cable routing, equipment layouts, substation designs, and third-party engineering submissions.
• Synchronize electrical engineering tasks with Project Engineering, Estimating, Integrated Supply Chain, Construction, Owners, utilities, and Engineers of Record.
• Assist in the selection of electrical equipment, procurement, vendor assessments, and review of technical submissions.
• Conduct constructability reviews, value engineering efforts, and technical risk evaluations.
• Mentor and nurture the development of Engineer I, Engineer II, Senior Engineers, and CAD Designers.
• Promote electrical engineering standards, lessons learned, and initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Act as the technical electrical engineering expert for intricate design challenges throughout the project's execution.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory or the capability to obtain one within one year of employment.
• A minimum of seven years of progressive electrical engineering experience in utility-scale power generation, industrial, EPC, utility, or heavy infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating intricate electrical engineering projects.
• Background in supporting gas turbine facilities, reciprocating engine generation plants, simple-cycle and combined-cycle power plants, substations, switchyards, transmission infrastructure, or balance of plant electrical systems.
• In-depth understanding of medium- and high-voltage power systems, utility interconnections, protection and control systems, grounding, power quality, and electrical equipment design.
• Experience collaborating with Owners, Engineers of Record, utilities, EPC partners, and construction teams throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Demonstrated ability to lead electrical engineering teams while mentoring and developing technical skills.
