This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead or support the electrical design of power distribution systems, including medium- and low-voltage power, lightning protection, and grounding systems for Department of Defense (DoD) and mission-critical facility projects.
• Create integrated control sequences and schematics for power distribution equipment.
• Develop and revise product specifications for electrical components and power distribution equipment.
• Collaborate directly with client subject matter experts regarding power systems components, controls, and integration.
• Generate designs based on site assessments and conceptual designs through to the final design phase.
• Interpret and translate client requirements into code-compliant designs.
• Design and oversee electrical plans and details utilizing Revit or AutoCAD software.
• Conduct power systems studies by developing electrical models using SKM or similar applications.
• Execute onsite electrical surveys and construction site inspections.
• Perform quality control assessments of electrical engineering designs.
• Mentor entry-level engineers.
• Prepare and evaluate electrical design and construction cost estimates.
• Carry out construction administration duties, including reviewing shop drawings and RFIs.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field, accompanied by 8 years of relevant experience in electrical power system design, or a demonstrable equivalency of experience and/or education.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• A valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.
• Must successfully pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review as a prerequisite for employment.
• Professional Engineer’s license is preferred.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with spot networks, micro-grid systems, lighting design, and electrical commissioning is preferred.
• Experience in developing architectural/engineering services proposals is preferred.
• Background in working within time-sensitive environments with direct client engagement and significant accountability is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications is required.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, plan, adapt, and self-initiate tasks in a fast-paced setting with minimal supervision is necessary.
• Telecommunications design experience, including networks, A/V, and electronic security design for DoD and mission-critical projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with Department of Defense regulations, such as Unified Facilities Criteria and the National Electric Code, is preferred.
• Proficiency in using Revit or AutoCAD is necessary.
• Experience with SKM or similar power systems analysis software is preferred.
