This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Perform EMI/EMC testing and analysis on electronic systems and components.
• Propel product maturity through swift prototyping, design validation, and qualification processes.
• Create and execute design strategies aimed at alleviating EMI/EMC challenges.
• Draft test plans, reports, and documentation necessary for compliance verification.
• Collaborate with product design teams to ensure integration of EMC requirements during the design phase.
• Recognize program EMI/EMC risks and establish strategies to minimize risk through modeling, simulation, or experimental methods.
• Keep abreast of pertinent standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-464D, DOD-160, FCC, CISPR, IEC) and regulatory mandates.
• Execute field tests and evaluations to assess product performance in real-world conditions.
• Thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing multiple concurrent projects and client needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a closely related field.
• Over 7 years of experience in EMI/EMC design and testing.
• Knowledge of EMC/EMI standards and regulations (e.g., MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-464D, RTCA DOD-160, FCC, IEC, CISPR, SAE).
• Demonstrated expertise in E3 design, analysis, testing, and mitigation strategies.
• Specialized knowledge in HERO, HEMP, Lightning Protection, ESD, RF exposure limits, and operational electromagnetic compatibility.
• Competence in utilizing EMI/EMC testing instruments (e.g., spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, antennas, LISN, etc.).
• Experience with simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, CST Microwave Studio) for EMI analysis.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for detecting and resolving EMI/EMC issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting results and collaborating with teams.
• Capability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Comprehensive understanding of PCB Layout techniques to satisfy mechanical, electrical, EMI/EMC, and manufacturing specifications.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics and applying best practices suitable for each design.
• Familiarity with standard interfaces such as MIPI, DP, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
