This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and develop electrical systems tailored for hyperscale data centers, which encompass medium- and low-voltage power distribution, backup power solutions, and emergency systems.
• Create and sustain electrical schematics, bills of materials, and installation drawings.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations, including NEC and IEC standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to establish specifications, design criteria, and project budgets.
• Analyze electrical systems for effective load balancing, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and optimizing power consumption.
• Oversee and maintain electrical systems through preventative maintenance, testing, and repair protocols.
• Develop and enforce electrical safety procedures and training initiatives.
• Assess innovations in electrical engineering and data center technologies, recommending enhancements as needed.
• Serve as the lead for electrical disciplines, taking responsibility for the success of projects.
• Offer specialized technical insights while mentoring and guiding mid-level engineers.
• Approve and authorize work as the Engineer of Record.
• Provide engineering budget and schedule projections for large and complex projects.
• Cultivate technical client relationships and play a pivotal role in driving sales.
• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering along with eight (8) years of pertinent experience in electrical design and/or engineering focused on data center infrastructure, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• A Professional Engineer License (P.E.) or Professional Engineer Designation (P. Eng) is mandatory.
• Significant experience in electrical engineering for data centers or similar critical facilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to foster and maintain robust client relationships.
• Creative thinking skills to identify opportunities for enhancing the client experience.
• Proficiency in building information modeling (BIM) software, particularly ACC Cloud.
• Experience in data center design and construction, including design criteria and industry standards.
• Must be available for in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office.
