This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Execute engineering design and analysis under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Collaborate with integrated, multi-disciplinary design teams to adhere to project timelines, deliverables, and budget constraints.
• Conduct detailed physical and electrical design and engineering for utility-scale battery energy storage systems.
• Create general arrangements for BESS equipment, single-line diagrams, elevations, connection details, bills of materials, construction details, grounding details, conduit plans, and illumination plans.
• Develop computer-based models and carry out power system studies, such as equipment sizing, load flow, reactive power, ampacity, short circuit, grounding, illumination, arc flash, harmonics, system loss, and related analyses.
• Draft specifications for materials, equipment, and construction.
• Evaluate specification sheets and submittals for alignment with specifications and design criteria.
• Generate project documentation and reports, including cost estimates, budget analyses, and studies.
• Provide on-site assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports.
• Assess the work of Designers, Drafters, and Field Service Personnel for quality and precision.
• Stay informed about relevant Codes and Standards.
• Foster and maintain relationships with clients while communicating about assignments and meetings.
• Work beyond 40 hours per week as necessary.
• Participate in conferences, training workshops, seminars, and classes as appropriate.
• Attend safety training sessions and adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Undertake additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
• 1–4 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• FE or PE certification is advantageous, but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and people skills.
• Candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.
• Experience with utility-scale BESS.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical, electrical power system study software (PowerFactory, ETAP), CYMCAP, CDEGS/WinIGS, Visual Lighting, and similar tools.
• Familiarity with 3D BIM design software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, as well as standard computer software.
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
