This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee group members' activities to guarantee the successful delivery of electrical engineering project outcomes, fulfilling all technical, quality, financial, and project control expectations.

• Initiate and communicate the scope of work to team members.

• Specify deliverables such as calculations, specifications, drawings, and design changes.

• Monitor status and track progress of team members to adhere to project scope and budget, while keeping the client updated.

• Conduct routine status meetings.

• Submit progress reports.

• Monitor and address open items and emerging project challenges.

• Coordinate the completion of project deliverables.

• Lead the team through the detailed design phases of all electrical engineering activities, including interfacing and coordinating with other disciplines.

• Create project scope, cost estimates, and schedules for intricate electrical modifications at nuclear power plants.

• Formulate proposals for complex electrical modifications at nuclear power plants.

• Provide technical oversight and supervision for all electrical engineering tasks, including engineering design change packages for the installation, replacement, or upgrading of existing plant equipment to ensure long-term reliability.

• Perform engineering calculations to support design change packages, including AC and DC power studies, short circuit analysis, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination, motor starting, and protective relay settings.

• Specify equipment procurement requirements.

• Participate in the bid review process for potential equipment vendors, including addressing vendor queries and maintaining a tracking system for inquiries and responses.

• Interact with clients to validate scope and ensure their satisfaction.

• Mentor and guide the professional development of the team.

• Identify and follow up on client needs that could lead to strategic opportunities.

• Utilize strong client relationships to generate follow-on work from existing clients.

• Prepare and coordinate multi-discipline proposals.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited program.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing electrical engineering systems for nuclear power plants.

• At least 3 years of experience leading an engineering design group through all stages of project design.

• Proficient in selecting equipment, materials, and preparing and assembling engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications.

• Experience acting as a firm/client liaison in either a support or lead engineering capacity.

• Knowledgeable in electrical system design, particularly low and medium voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors, relays, etc.).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information to project team members and clients.

• Proficiency in MS Office applications.

• Detail-oriented approach to work.

• Ability to obtain a badge for unescorted access to a nuclear facility.

• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred.
