This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Assist in the creation and upkeep of the electrical POR for Giga Data Centers, facilitating the "Gold Standard" design aimed at enhancing manufacturing reliability and efficiency at scale.
• Draft technical specifications and Basis of Design documents for designated power systems within the internal engineering repository.
• Adhere to global and local standards during design processes, ensuring compliance with the NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 70E, and IEEE standards for mission-critical power distribution.
• Collaborate with external engineering (A&E) firms to customize designs, evaluating deliverables for alignment with core power performance objectives and standardization criteria.
• Conduct comprehensive power system studies, such as load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash analysis to guarantee system resilience and safety.
• Design high-density power distribution configurations (from Medium Voltage to rack PDUs) in accordance with OCP (Open Compute Project) specifications for AI interoperability.
• Choose and specify medium/low voltage switchgear, generators, UPS systems, transformers, ATS/STS units, and high-ampacity busways suited for high-density computing environments.
• Produce detailed Bills of Material (BOMs), Quantity Take Offs (QTOs), and Commissioning scripts to facilitate a manufacturing-first supply chain.
• Contribute to the Sequence of Operations (SOO) and Control Narratives for EPMS/BMS integration, outlining the responses of electrical systems to utility outages and dynamic AI load variations.
• Employ advanced simulation tools to enhance power system reliability and confirm designs prior to manufacturing.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Over 5 years of electrical engineering experience, particularly in mission-critical, data center, or heavy industrial facilities.
• Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70) and pertinent IEEE standards.
• Strong expertise in electrical system analysis utilizing tools such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower.
• Experience with relay programming and protection coordination strategies.
• Proficient in Revit/AutoCAD for electrical design work.
• Solid grasp of high-density power solutions (100kW+ racks) and contemporary data center architectures (distributed redundant, block redundant, etc.).
• Background in specifying heavy electrical equipment, including MV/LV switchgear, generators, and large-scale UPS systems.
• Proven experience in contributing to standardized or reference designs meant for repeatable implementation.
