This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Responsible for designing electrical power, lighting, life safety, and security systems for commercial and K-12 educational facilities.
• Create comprehensive electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and specifications.
• Ensure all designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Manage electrical engineering projects from initial concept to final completion.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Supervise project timelines, budgets, and resources to guarantee successful delivery.
• Offer technical guidance and expertise in selecting electrical power, lighting, life safety, and security systems and their components.
• Conduct thorough site inspections and assessments to confirm design feasibility and compliance.
• Execute load calculations, lighting calculations, short-circuit analysis, arc flash hazard assessments, and other engineering calculations as necessary.
• Assist in reviewing quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of designs.
• Engage with clients to identify project needs and provide technical solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a preference for prior K-12 design experience.
• Proven success in managing and delivering complex projects.
• Demonstrated ability in creative thinking, design, and technical proficiency.
• Progressing towards obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Michigan, or eligibility for licensure through reciprocity.
• Proficient in electrical design software and lighting design calculation software; required.
• Proficient in Revit; required.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Knowledge of Bluebeam; preferred.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects and adhere to tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel 30-40% of the time throughout the State of Michigan to client/project sites as required.
