Senior Editorial Writer, Content Strategist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Write executive articles for distribution across owned, social, and external channels.

• Create sponsored editorial and co-authored content for targeted trade publishers.

• Source and craft client and partner narratives, both anonymized and attributed, ensuring they feel genuine rather than formulaic.

• Conduct interviews with internal subject matter experts, clients, and partners to uncover unique story angles and perspectives.

• Assist with live programming, including office hours, podcast appearances, and ongoing discussions with senior ModSquad representatives.

• Develop and maintain an editorial schedule across various areas: customer support, trust & safety, content moderation, AI/automation, business systems, and security.

• Monitor the competitive landscape and trade publishing to identify opportunities where our voice can make an impact.

• Provide editorial guidance to a junior writer; review drafts for structure, clarity, and consistent viewpoint.

• Collaborate with the VP of Marketing to ensure editorial output aligns with partner co-marketing requirements.

• Work alongside Account Management and Sales to pinpoint compelling client stories worth sharing.

• Establish a repeatable process for sourcing, developing, and clearing client narratives.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6–8 years of professional writing experience, with significant involvement in journalism, editorial, or trade publishing.

• Proven experience in executive ghostwriting, with examples available for discussion.

• Background in covering or writing for audiences in areas such as customer experience, enterprise SaaS, trust & safety, BPO/outsourcing, or digital operations.

• Familiarity with the workings of trade publications, including sponsored content, co-authorship, and pitching editorial concepts.

• Proficient in plain text workflows, Markdown, and GitHub.
