Senior Editorial Book Designer

📋 Description

• Contribute to extensive multi-page publications for both digital and print formats;

• Manage substantial amounts of text and intricate content frameworks;

• Establish a coherent information hierarchy along with polished visual designs;

• Develop robust typographic systems and modular grid layouts;

• Collaborate with the Art Director to create publication visual styles from the ground up;

• Design cover concepts at both the conceptual and final visual execution stages;

• Engage with infographics, data visualization, and complex information management;

• Prepare files for print production;

• Produce communication and marketing materials across various platforms;

• Adjust visual solutions for both digital environments and physical media;

• Consistently deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines (though not always).

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in editorial and graphic design

• Proficient use of Adobe InDesign (the primary and essential tool)

• A strong and well-curated portfolio showcasing print products and editorial materials (essential), along with graphic and communication design projects

• Proven experience in managing large-scale multi-page publications

• Experience working closely with an Art Director

• Excellent typography and layout skills

• Solid understanding of modular grid systems and composition

• Ability to create a clear and logical content hierarchy

• Strong expertise in information architecture and content design

• Capability to structure, organize, and refine complex client content into clear and visually appealing layouts

• Experience with infographics and complex data visualization

• Familiarity with prepress preparation and print production

• Knowledge of printing technologies and materials

• Experience working with print production specifics and materials (foil stamping, special coatings, embossing, etc.)

• Exceptional attention to detail and consistency

• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines without compromising quality

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

• Professional communication skills with teammates, Art Directors, and clients

• Experience in communication design, branding, and marketing materials

• Capability to generate graphic content for publications using AI tools (Midjourney, Nano Banana, etc.)

• Proficient in both Russian and English
