This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee the editing of diverse text-based digital travel content, ranging from inspirational narratives to informative pieces, including both in-depth articles and brief updates.

• Operate within a dynamic and collaborative setting, working closely with fellow editors and reporting directly to the editorial director.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of direct experience in text editing.

• 5-7 years as a senior editor at a media organization, thriving in a deadline-oriented atmosphere.

• Proficient in line editing, story development, and packaging content.

• Experience in reporting and a solid understanding of best practices in fact-checking.

• Exceptional attention to detail and grammar.

• Capable of juggling multiple deadlines at once.

• Skilled in crafting clear, engaging copy and guiding others to enhance their writing.

• Versatile in storytelling, able to transition from long-form features to short news articles to roundups and destination highlights.

• Strong communication abilities and competence in collaborating effectively with both staff and freelancers in a remote work environment.

• Experience in assigning and commissioning articles.

• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS).

• Background in writing newsletters.

• Experience in scriptwriting and capturing footage for social media videos.

• A genuine passion for travel and an enthusiasm for devising innovative approaches to travel storytelling.
