This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Become a member of a dynamic team of 35 innovative engineers specializing in Internet of Things and Sensor Technology.
• Collaborate with your team to design, construct, and sustain scalable infrastructure for AI-driven applications, facilitating model inference on IoT devices.
• Implement scalable, low-latency intelligence at the edge of networks.
• Take ownership of and enhance CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and secure deployments.
• Guarantee system reliability, performance, security, low-latency predictions, and offline operation in sensitive, mission-critical settings.
• Work closely with ML engineers to deploy and scale models in a production environment.
• Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code methodologies (e.g., Terraform).
• Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and continuously enhance observability.
• Occasionally support field operations by collecting sensor data on-site in Germany, Poland, or Hungary and validating technology through controlled field trials.
• Due to security regulations for this position, you must possess citizenship of an EU Member State.
• You are legally registered in an EU country.
• You are willing to travel and stay for 2-3 days each month in Berlin, Munich, Poland, or Hungary.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in IT (e.g., Engineering).
• At least 5 years of full-time experience as a DevOps engineer, Platform Engineer, SRE, or MLOps Engineer.
• Have worked for a minimum of three years with one employer.
• Practical cloud expertise is essential.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices is required.
• Expert knowledge in CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code is necessary.
• Familiarity with security best practices in cloud and distributed systems.
• Experience in supporting data-intensive and AI/ML workloads.
• Extensive experience working in a Linux environment.
• Proficient in bash scripting.
• Work experience in the sensor, IoT, or hardware sectors is preferred.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
• A passion for IoT technology.
• A strong motivation to work in defense.
• A personality that thrives in a fast-paced startup/scaleup atmosphere.
• Willingness to engage hands-on and actively work with the systems.
• Ideally have experience with Golang.
• Ideally have experience with C/C++.
• Ideally possess some knowledge of Apache license obligations, including attribution, notice files, and compliant redistribution of builds and containers.
