This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee or assist in the creation and execution of economic-development strategies and projects.
• Perform analyses of regional economics, industries, labor markets, and demographics.
• Evaluate the readiness of communities and regions for attracting, expanding, and retaining businesses.
• Assess industrial and commercial locations for their infrastructure, workforce, transportation, utilities, zoning, and overall development preparedness.
• Create frameworks for site readiness and expansion readiness.
• Identify key industries based on regional strengths, workforce skills, supply chains, and market dynamics.
• Conduct interviews with stakeholders and lead discussions with employers, government bodies, utilities, educational institutions, and community partners.
• Formulate recommendations concerning infrastructure, workforce development, incentives, permitting processes, business climate, and regional competitiveness.
• Assist with planning, implementation, and technical assistance projects funded by the EDA.
• Generate comprehensive reports, implementation strategies, presentations, and executive summaries.
• Contribute technical narratives, methodologies, work plans, and qualifications for government proposals.
• Present findings to public officials, boards, economic development organizations, and community stakeholders.
• A minimum of seven years of experience in economic development, regional planning, site selection, or the attraction and retention of businesses.
• Proven experience collaborating with government agencies, economic development organizations, or regional planning bodies.
• Demonstrated experience in site readiness, expansion readiness, or economic development strategy initiatives.
• Strong comprehension of factors affecting business location, including workforce, infrastructure, utilities, transportation, real estate, and permitting.
• Experience in analyzing economic, demographic, industry, and labor market data.
• Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, report writing, and presentations.
• Capability to translate research findings into practical economic development recommendations.
